This is a sculpture that aims to poke fun at the fact that we personify, mythologize, and commodify the idea of the planets in our solar system, How and why is it that mind-bendingly large masses of rock and gas, located millions of miles away from us, can have so much meaning?
This Saturn model is defective, as the rings have been accidentally inserted into the planet itself. A partially-imprinted “Made in USA” logo is stamped on the rings.
